Trying out diet tracking at SparkPeople

The website seems descent, if a little slow. You can photograph your food with your mobile phone and submit it via email to the website, for a food photolog. More to come, once I have used it for longer.

Added Google Reader Clips to the Sidebar

I now use Google Reader for all my RSS feeds. I used to use SAGE (Firefox extension), but I like Reader better. I just added a widget to the sidebar that displays my shared clips from Reader. You can do the same at http://www.google.com/reader/clip-creator/user/-/state/com.google/broadcast.

Now if I could just search in Reader!

Mashed Cauliflower - Mashed Potatoes Substitute

Inspired by a food network recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 package tofu
  • 1 cup 1/2 & 1/2
  • 1 package cream cheese
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • minced garlic
  • head of cauliflower
  • Parmesan cheese

Directions

  • cut cauliflower into small pieces
  • add to boiling water, cook until soft (if it mashes easily, its done)
  • drain cauliflower
  • blend cauliflower, butter, cream cheese, and tofu. If you let them sit out and reach room temperature, or heat them up, then you won't end up having to heat the mash cauli at the end.
  • stir in 1/2 & 1/2 and garlic

more to come...

Cool research project exploring colbrativie filtering in the context of movies. I'm sure it would be a great companion to netflix.
